The Rest of October

October was a crazy busy month this year, and since we’re almost to Thanksgiving now, I figure it’s about time to wrap it up.  So without further ado, the rest of October.

The day before Halloween, we took Aiden to Burt’s Pumpkin Farm to pick out a couple of pumpkins to carve.  We never actually got around to carving the pumpkins we bought, but it was still totally worth it.  The highlights of the trip: wheelbarrow and hay ride.

The following day was Halloween and IT.WAS.AWESOME!  First we met in the cul-de-sac for the neighborhood “parade” and Aiden’s costume was a hit.

And then we went trick-or-treating.  It’s not very often that Aiden gets to roam the neighborhood freely (even though that’s all he would do if you let him), so we just let him go.  He got candy from like 4 houses, but pretty much only those that would meet him in the yard as he ran through.

Trick or Treat
“For me?”

Whoa there little buddy...
“Great, I’ll take it.”

However, he did hesitantly approach the smoking house despite the alien (or whatever the hell that guy was supposed to be) sitting on  the doorstep.

Proceeding with caution

And ultimately decided that it was worth it for the smoke machine (and the box of Nerds which he fiercely held onto).

Smoke machines...   ...are wonderful.

After trick-or-treating, we paid a surprise visit to Nama and Paw Paw’s house, but we of course forgot the camera.  I’m really not sure who had more fun this year, me or him.  This to me is what having kids is all about.

Boy this post is really orange.  Oh and Happy Thanksgiving! ;)
